Jodie and her team of competent instructors conduct private tution for people wanting to learn how to skate or blade. Indoor classes are held at Skateaway Albany Creek www.skateaway.net.au but if you are wanting to learn how to master the art of skating/blading outdoors we also have private tution available to assist anyone, from young to old, beginner to more advanced.  We can have lessons for one-on-one or a small group of people you might have wanting to learn together.

Skaters must have their own equipment including skates/blades and protective equipment (helmet, knee pads, wrist guards, and elbow pads) but by the end of 2013 we will be offering blades and protective equipment for hire.

Outdoor private tution is normally held in the city or northern suburbs.  For further information or to make a booking please contact Jodie@balancefse.com.au or 0419 65 22 45.

Saturday Morning Skating Program

The Saturday morning Skateaway Star class program has three levels, commencing at the very basic level and gradually moving through to the more involved technical skills of quad and blade skating.  The classes are held at Skateaway, Albany Creek.

Saturdays  9 am - 10 am  Admission $15     Hire $5

All levels are suitable for people of all ages and fitness on blade’s or traditional     quad skates.  In addition to the star levels, we conduct two additional specialised groups, one if for the first time or beginner skaters, and the other group is a separate class just for adults.  Both of these groups are incorporated in the Saturday morning Learn to Skate Class.  As part of the admission fee, skaters will be invited to skate the Saturday morning session FREE OF CHARGE from 10 am to 12 noon.

Skaters that are competent on their required star elements will receive a Star patch and be moved into the next level.   Once skaters have completed the star program they can then move into the Artistic Development Program (figure skating) introductory class which is conducted on Saturdays between 12 noon - 1 pm.

Your Star Class Co-ordinator and Lead Instructor, Jodie Johnson-Garufo, is a fully qualified level two accredited roller skating teacher.  Jodie and her team of competent instructors will ensure you learn important skating skills and techniques whilst still having fun!
